During the discussion held with council of ministers, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed(PhD) stated that the Koysha project has made a significant contribution to knowledge transfer and capacity for future works in Ethiopia.
The Prime Minister said that a project cannot be achieved without the combined efforts of Ethiopian’s. Moreover, Abiy said experts and project workers involved in the project have made a significant contribution to the community where the project is located, and they deserve gratitude.
Speaking at the discussion, Prime Minister Abiy noted that the project requires professionals and project workers who shares the project’s vision.
“The first time I heard about the existence of the Koysha Dam was when they were negotiating to reduce the 1 billion Euro cost of the Renaissance Dam,”Prime Minister said
Abiy Ahmed(PhD) said the project has been launched believing that it would play a significant role in balancing electric demand and supply at the time, and the project is currently undergoing significant changes.
Describing the current status and progress, Prime Minister said the dam is currently 128 meters high.
“The work done in the past three months has yielded excellent results in the macroeconomic and all sectors, and some results have exceeded beyond expectations,” Abiy reaffirmed.
The Prime Minister Further said that this result will be further enhanced by the evaluating the implementation of the plan in the upcoming six months.
