Addis Ababa City Administration Mayor Adanech Abiebie announced that, thanks to the city’s focused efforts and strong commitment, over 30,000 youth and women have secured permanent employment through a single-day job creation mobilization.
In a message shared on her official social media platform, Mayor Adanech emphasized that the city administration’s work is not just about transforming the physical landscape of Addis Ababa, but also about empowering its residents and improving their livelihoods.
The Mayor expressed that the youth and women benefiting from this initiative had long been requesting opportunities to work and build better futures for themselves.
The newly employed individuals will take on roles in various key sectors across the city, including urban agriculture, manufacturing, construction, commerce, and other essential service industries.
The Mayor highlighted that this one-day mobilization is part of the ongoing and expanded efforts to create sustainable job opportunities in Addis Ababa, a commitment that will continue to grow stronger over time.
“The work to create job opportunities is not a one-time event, it is an ongoing process that will continue to evolve with greater focus and determination,” the Mayor stated, reiterating the city administration’s dedication to this initiative.
The Mayor also assured that the city administration will continue to support and monitor the progress of these newly employed individuals, ensuring that they receive the necessary resources and guidance to thrive in their respective fields.
Lastly, Mayor Adanech urged the youth and women to approach their new roles with dedication and hard work, stressing that their contributions will not only transform their own lives but will also play a vital role in shaping a more prosperous and productive nation.
