The Green Legacy Initiative, championed by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), continues to be implemented nationwide, restoring degraded landscapes and creating millions of green jobs across Ethiopia.
The management, journalists, and staff members of Addis Media Network have participated in a seedling caring and follow-up program at the Gullele Botanical Garden earlier this morning.
Speaking during a seedling care and follow-up program, Addis Media Network Chief Executive Officer, Kassahun Gonfa, said the institution is not only serving as the voice of a generation but is also actively engaged in nationally significant development initiatives, reinforcing its role as an exemplary public institution.
Kassahun further explained that Addis Media Network is playing a leading role in enhancing public awareness by effectively integrating modern technology with a motivated and capable workforce.
In particular, Kassahun recalled AMN’s substantial contribution through live broadcasts of the nationwide single -day seedling planting campaigns from various parts of the country, enabling citizens to closely follow and actively engage with these national initiatives.
Speaking during a seedling care and follow-up program, the CEO emphasized that AMN’s contribution goes far beyond reporting. By mobilizing its leadership and professionals, the institution has been directly involved in seedling planting, continuous monitoring, and sustained care to ensure the survival and growth of planted trees, demonstrating strong practical results and exemplary commitment.
“As Addis Media Network, we are not only the voice of a generation, but an institution leaving a visible and lasting mark on intergenerational national development efforts in Ethiopia,” Kassahun Gonfa stated.
The CEO also reaffirmed that AMN will further strengthen its seedling care and follow-up activities to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of the Green Legacy Initiative.
Concluding his remarks, Kassahun pledged that Addis Media Network will continue to expand its participation in national movements and fully discharge its responsibility in contributing to Ethiopia’s sustainable development.
Ethiopia has planted more than 40 Billion tree seedlings over the past six years as part of its nationwide Green Legacy Initiative, marking one of the largest environmental restoration efforts in Africa.
