Addis Media Network (AMN), the “Voice of the Generation,” and The Great Ethiopian Run have entered into a partnership to broadcast the 2019 Discover Ethiopia Classics, a series of six races to be held in six cities, to audiences across Ethiopia.

The partnership aims to widely promote running, tourism, community and local cultural stories from the six host cities throughout the 2019 racing season.

The agreement was signed by Addis Media Network Chief Executive Officer Solomon Dibaba and The Great Ethiopian Run General Manager Dagmawit Amare.

As Addis Media Network (AMN) is a media organization that broadcasts in various local and international languages through television, radio, print and digital platforms, it will support the discover Ethiopia Classics by using its broad reach and multiple channels to bring stories, experiences and opportunities from each host destination to audiences across the country.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, AMN Chief Executive Officer Solomon Dibaba said, “The Discover Ethiopia Classics will make a significant contribution to Addis Media Network’s efforts to expand its nationwide reach.”

The Great Ethiopian Run General Manager Dagmawit Amare, for her part, said, “We hope this agreement will bring a great opportunity to further promote The Great Ethiopian Run in Ethiopia and make the races we organize in regional cities more accessible to the public.”

She also announced that registration for the Discover Ethiopia Classics has opened in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and other partner organizations.

The six-race series will take runners, visitors and cultural enthusiasts on a journey through some of Ethiopia’s unique destinations.

The 2019 racing season will take participants to Debre Birhan, Hawassa, Jimma, Bokoji, Arba Minch and Harar, offering them an experience that goes beyond running.

Each destination will combine a unique racing experience with Ethiopia’s diverse natural landscapes, rich culture, history, cuisine and warm hospitality.
