Ethiopia, UN Sign Partnership Agreement on COP32

Ethiopia and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) have formalized a partnership to collaborate on the successful delivery of the 32nd Conference of the Parties (COP32), which Ethiopia is set to host.

The agreement follows the high-level talks between Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, held on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 23 November 2025.

Under the partnership, UNECA will provide comprehensive support to the COP32 Presidency by coordinating institutional capacities across the United Nations system as to ministry of foreign affairs of Ethiopia reported it.
