In a message shared on her official social media page, Adanech Abiebie Mayor of Addis Ababa announced that an Ethiopian delegation is participating in the 13th World Urban Forum being held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The forum is being held under the theme, “Housing for All: Building Safe, Resilient, and Sustainable Cities and Communities.”

According to the Mayor, discussions at the global gathering are centered on addressing the worldwide housing crisis, advancing sustainable urban development, building resilient and inclusive cities, strengthening the connection between climate and housing, supporting reconstruction efforts, and expanding affordable housing initiatives.
Mayor Adanech further noted that the forum also includes experience-sharing sessions and field visits aimed at exchanging best practices and innovative urban solutions among participating countries. In addition to taking part in the discussions and field visits, the Ethiopian delegation is carrying out extensive efforts to promote the image of Ethiopia, particularly the capital city, Addis Ababa, to the international community.

“At the expo officially opened today, the government, in collaboration with the private sector, has established an Ethiopian pavilion showcasing the country through various forms of presentation,” the Mayor stated.
She added that written materials, videos, and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies, among other multimedia platforms, are being utilized to highlight Ethiopia’s identity, ongoing development, and urban transformation to global participants and visitors.
