Ethiopiaβs Minister Adviser for East African Affairs, Getachew Reda, held talks with Sjoerd Sjoerdsma, Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81).
According to the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two officials discussed Ethiopia-Netherlands bilateral relations as well as regional issues of mutual interest.
Getachew briefed the Dutch foreign minister on developments in the Horn of Africa, particularly the situation in Sudan, and highlighted Ethiopiaβs ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
The discussions also covered bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Ethiopia and the Netherlands.
Minister Sjoerd Sjoerdsma expressed the Netherlandsβ interest in expanding investment and strengthening economic cooperation with Ethiopia. He also emphasized the importance of continued high-level engagement to further deepen the partnership between the two countries across various areas.
