In a message shared on her official social media page this afternoon, Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie announced that extensive preparations have been made to ensure stable trade and an adequate supply of essential goods ahead of the Eid al-Adha (Arafah) holiday.
βWe have made arrangements to ensure that there is no shortage of products for the 1147th Eid al-Adha (Arafah) holiday and to maintain stable trade conditions,β the mayor stated.
She noted that the city administration has taken comprehensive measures to help residents celebrate the holiday comfortably, without market pressure or inconvenience, by ensuring the availability of basic consumer goods and holiday-related products at fair prices and in sufficient quantities.

According to the mayor, crops, legumes, vegetables, and fruits are being supplied widely and at reasonable prices through all seven agricultural product sales centers across the city. In addition, 250 weekend markets operating throughout the city will remain open until the eve of the holiday, allowing residents to shop conveniently within their local areas.
She also stated that edible oil and flour products have been made available in adequate quantities through 2,052 consumer cooperative shops and Addis Ababa Trade Organization warehouses.
Mayor Adanech encouraged residents to make use of the available market options near their neighborhoods and concluded her message by wishing everyone a joyful Eid al-Adha celebration.
