In a message shared on her official social media platform this afternoon, Adanech Abiebie Mayor of Addis Ababa announced the inauguration of the 29th Tesfa Berhan Feeding Center as part of the city’s ongoing efforts to reinforce social justice.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Mayor stated that the Tesfa Berhan Feeding Program is one of the key initiatives through which the city administration promotes social justice and supports the well-being of vulnerable communities.

“Today, we inaugurated the 29th Tesfa Berhan Feeding Center in Lideta Sub-City, which is the third center established in the sub-city,” she stated.

“The center launched today is an additional charitable initiative designed to support the 2,460 residents living in the 492 housing units we have built, particularly the elderly, socially disadvantaged individuals, vulnerable residents, and those in need of assistance in the Begonet neighborhood, where many of our citizens reside,” the Mayor said

Mayor Adanech encouraged the needy residents to make use of the feeding centers, noting that clean and fresh meals are served once daily at all 29 Tesfa Berhan Feeding Centers across the city.

“There is no reason for our vulnerable citizens to go to the streets in search of food, as they can receive meals at these centers,” she said.

“In this charitable neighborhood, an injera bakery, tailoring services, hairdressing facilities, and a children’s playground have also been established as additional sources of support and relief for residents,” she added.

Mayor Adanech also expressed appreciation to Dashen Bank for its continued commitment to corporate social responsibility.

“I would like to thank Dashen Bank for responding to our call, supporting the construction of the center, and committing to assisting with future feeding programs for those in need,” she said.
