Mayor Adanech Abiebie hosted Israeli President Isaac Herzog this morning at the Adwa Victory Memorial in Addis Ababa.
In a statement shared on her official social media account, the Mayor said it was an honor to welcome the visiting President to Adwa Victory Memorial, which stands as a symbol of pride for all Black people.
“This morning, we had the honor of hosting His Excellency Isaac Herzog, President of Israel, at the Adwa Victory Memorial — a symbol of pride for all Black people,” she wrote.
During the visit, the two leaders explored the history of Ethiopia’s heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty.
Mayor Adanech expressed her appreciation to President Herzog for visiting the Memorial Museum and extended her best wishes for a productive stay in Ethiopia.
“On behalf of myself and the City Administration, I wish him a productive stay in the Land of Origins, Ethiopia, and in our beautiful capital, Addis Ababa. May God bless Ethiopia and its people,” the Mayor stated.
