The Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Zeleke Temesgen(PhD), held discussions with Afkar bin Nazim(PhD), Oman’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, on ways to further enhance the participation of Omani investors in Ethiopia.
During the discussion, Zeleke provided explanations on Ethiopia’s investment landscape, the reforms undertaken to make the investment environment conducive and competitive, and the priority investment sectors the government is focusing on.
The Ethiopian Investment Commission also affirmed its commitment to providing efficient services to investors by expanding transparent procedures and ensuring seamless support.
In addition, the Commissioner expressed Ethiopia’s readiness to work in collaboration with the Embassy of Oman to further strengthen their investment relations. He also extended an invitation to Omani investors to participate in the upcoming “Invest in Ethiopia” Business Forum, which will be held from 27-28 March 2026.
Oman’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Afkar bin Nazim(PhD), on his part, stated that Oman is interested in strengthening its economic cooperation with Ethiopia. The ambassador explained that Omani investors have shown interest in engaging in Ethiopia’s investment sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, energy, and tourism.
The Ambassador also added that Ethiopia’s ongoing reform measures and its strategic geographic location make the country an attractive investment destination.
Today’s discussion aimed at strengthening the economic cooperation between Oman and Ethiopia and creating favorable conditions for Omani investors to invest in Ethiopia.
