Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), in a social media post this afternoon, announced his participation in the 2nd African Political Parties Summit, where he delivered remarks under the theme “Governing for Growth.”
“Today, I attended the 2nd African Political Parties Summit and delivered remarks under the theme ‘Governing for Growth.’ We take great pride that Addis Ababa, capital of Africa, is hosting this important continental gathering,” he said.
In his remarks, the Prime Minister underscored that, guided by Medemer, unity, accountability and inclusive governance are essential to ensuring that political leadership improves people’s lives. He emphasized the need for political parties to look beyond electoral competition, build consensus on long-term national priorities that transcend changes in government, and work together in the national interest.
He also highlighted the importance of investing in the next generation of leaders by giving them responsibilities and opportunities to grow. In this regard, he noted that, through the African Leadership Excellence Academy, Ethiopia is opening its training to political parties across the continent.
“Our responsibility to build a better future for our people shall continue!” he concluded.
