Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has emphasized that strengthening domestic production through national capability is the cornerstone of Ethiopia’s economic independence and sovereignty.
In a recent statement on his official social media page, the Prime Minister said he visited the Yo Holding Coal factory in the Gamo Zone, which began operations last year.
He noted that the factory is contributing significantly to import substitution by supplying local industries with domestically produced products, thereby reducing reliance on foreign imports. In addition to its economic impact, the facility has also created employment opportunities for local residents.
“Our journey to develop our country’s natural resources through hard work and domestic investment will continue with renewed determination,” the Prime Minister stated, reaffirming that such efforts will further strengthen Ethiopia’s economic sovereignty.
