Ethiopia Completes All Preparations to Host the 39th Ordinary Session of African Union Summit:Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Ethiopia has successfully finalized all necessary preparations to host the 39th Ordinary Session of the African Union Heads of State and Government Summit, reaffirming the country’s readiness to welcome African leaders and international partners to Addis Ababa.

According to the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Ambassador Nebiat Getachew, comprehensive logistical and organizational arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the summit in the Ethiopian capital.

The African Union Heads of State and Government Summit is scheduled to take place on February 14 and 15, while the AU Executive Council meeting will convene on February 11 and 12.

Ambassador Nebiat emphasized that the summit will serve as a major platform for showcasing Ethiopia’s positive image in both political and economic spheres.

The Spokesperson further noted that Ethiopia will share its experiences and best practices in key areas where it has recorded notable progress. These include landmark achievements under the Green Legacy Initiative, advancements in wheat production, progress in corridor development, and emerging capabilities in artificial intelligence technologies.

In addition, the spokesperson revealed that the Italy–Africa Leaders’ Summit will also be held in Addis Ababa on February 13, further underscoring the city’s growing stature as a hub for high-level continental and international engagements.
