The African Political Parties Summit, bringing together more than 1,000 participants and leaders from 20 African countries, will be held at the Adwa Victory Memorial in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Nebiyu Sehul, Director General of Prosperity Party’s International Relations Directorate announced that the 2nd African political parties Summit will be held over three consecutive days from November 5-7, 2026 at Adwa Victory Memorial, in Addis Ababa.
In a press briefing, the Director General noted that Addis Ababa is widely recognized as a diplomatic hub, renowned for hosting continental and international conferences.
He stated that the summit further demonstrates the continuation of this continental recognition and confidence in the city.
The Director General explained that the Prosperity Party will lead the summit as the principal organizer, while Ethiopia will serve as the host country.
He also highlighted that the African Governance Centre will provide significant support in coordinating the summit.
Nebiyu stated that the summit is expected to bring together more than 1,000 guests from across Africa. Among the participants will be 20 heads of state and government, 80 senior parliamentarians and ministers, senior political party leaders, representatives of the business community and civil society organizations, as well as youth and women leaders.
He further indicated that the summit will deliberate under the theme, “The Role of African Political Parties in the Sustainable Development of the Continent.”
One of the summit’s key areas of focus will be highlighting the role political parties should play in ensuring long-term economic development and prosperity.
Another major area of discussion will be defining the contribution of political parties to advancing industrialization and strengthening economic resilience across Africa.
Furthermore, he explained that enabling political parties to play a meaningful role in promoting sound financial management, transparency, and accountability will be among the summit’s principal objectives.
