President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Taye Atske Selassie stated that the doctrine of Adwa consolidates Ethiopianism.

The 130th anniversary of the Victory of Adwa was commemorated at the Adwa Victory Memorial in the presence of high-ranking government officials and invited guests.

In his remarks at the ceremony, President Taye described the Victory of Adwa as a historic battle that ushered in a new dawn of freedom for Africa and Black people worldwide.

The president said the triumph restored human dignity and proclaimed the heroic spirit of the Ethiopian people on the global stage.

The President emphasized that the victory was not only achieved by heroic men, but also marked a historic chapter that demonstrated to the world the political acumen, and resilience of Ethiopian women, as well as the country’s strategic leadership and enduring patriotism.

President Taye further noted that the heroism of Adwa should serve as a major model and benchmark for the practice of Ethiopian politics and democracy.

The president added that Adwa offers profound lessons for the nation’s political culture and serves as a source of wisdom and moral guidance, particularly for those who promote conflict.
