In a statement shared on her official social media platform this morning, Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie announced that the city administration has begun evaluating its performance over the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

“We have begun conducting a performance review of our city administration for the first nine months of the 2018 Ethiopian fiscal year,” the mayor said.

According to the mayor, the city administration has completed 96 percent of its planned activities during the period under review.

“We have been able to accomplish 96 percent of the planned activities for this fiscal year,” she added.

The mayor stated that the two-day review forum will assess progress on key priorities, including strengthening good governance, addressing factors contributing to the rising cost of living, curbing inflation and market distortions, and expanding digital government services.

She noted that the administration will also focus on fully finalizing the ongoing productive Mesob digital one-stop government service centers, digitizing the remaining public services, and accelerating the completion of ongoing projects scheduled for delivery within the fiscal year.

The mayor further emphasized that the city’s plan implementation rate has steadily improved over the past five years, rising to 96 percent in the 2018 Ethiopian fiscal year.

She added that the review process will also guide leaders in creating a conducive environment for the upcoming 7th general election to be conducted in a fair, free, credible, and independent manner.

According to the mayor, maintaining existing achievements, addressing implementation gaps, and improving performance in the remaining months of the fiscal year will be the central focus of the review.
