Addis Ababa City Mayor Adanech Abiebie said government hospitals under the city administration are undergoing significant transformation, replacing long-neglected and aging facilities with modern healthcare infrastructure.
In a message shared on her official social media platform this afternoon, the mayor said outdated hospital buildings are being replaced with modern structures, while obsolete medical equipment is being upgraded with state-of-the-art technologies to improve healthcare services and ease the workload of medical professionals.

She noted that the improved environment in several hospitals now provides a more welcoming and healing atmosphere for patients and healthcare workers alike.
According to the mayor, Zewditu Memorial Hospital, Menelik II Comprehensive Specialized Hospital, and the recently inaugurated Ras Desta Hospital are examples of the city’s ongoing efforts to modernize public healthcare facilities.
Mayor Adanech added that the city administration will continue working to extend the same standard of modernization across all government hospitals in Addis Ababa.
