Ethiopia’s Cultural Heritage Captivates Swiss Visitors at Gobe and Shinoye Festival

Swiss visitors attending the Gobe and Shinoye Festival currently taking place in Addis Ababa have expressed their admiration for Ethiopia’s rich and vibrant cultural heritage.

Manuel, a Swiss visitor, said the festival atmosphere was exceptionally lively and colorful, adding that he was delighted to have the opportunity to attend the event.

Manuel, who traveled to Ethiopia on a nine-hour flight, said the captivating cultural performances he witnessed at the festival made him forget the fatigue of the journey.

Another Swiss visitor, Selina, said she was impressed by the festive cultural displays and the performances presented by participants at the festival.

She said she would share her experience of the festival’s captivating cultural presentations with others and encourage them to visit Ethiopia to experience its rich cultural heritage firsthand.

The visitors said this was their first trip to Ethiopia, adding that they did not expect it to be their last.

Gobe and Shinoye is a vibrant traditional cultural game played by Oromo youth and women, bringing together joy, energy, music, movement and the beautiful spirit of Oromo culture.
