Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has extended his best wishes to students across Ethiopia as the country begins the 2019 academic year.
In a message marking the start of the new academic year, the Prime Minister described Ethiopia’s young generation as the country’s “greatest wealth”, urging students to learn with curiosity, pursue excellence, and develop the skills needed to contribute to the nation’s future.
Prime Minister Abiy said much of what is being built today is intended for future generations, emphasizing that students have a vital role as both beneficiaries and custodians of that future.
He also called on students to help carry Ethiopia’s long-standing legacy of civilization forward through dedication and learning.
Addressing teachers, the Prime Minister highlighted their central role in building a capable and confident generation.
He encouraged educators to continue inspiring students, nurturing their potential, and equipping them with knowledge and values for the future.
Prime Minister Abiy also wished all stakeholders in Ethiopia’s education sector a successful and rewarding academic year.
