In a message shared on her official social media page, Ethiopia’s Minister of Health, Dr. Mekdes Daba, announced that she held a productive discussion with Dr. Mamady Yilla, Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of State, focusing on the strong and longstanding health partnership between Ethiopia and the United States.
The discussion also highlighted key health priority areas identified by Ethiopia to achieve sustainable progress and strengthen the country’s healthcare system.

Dr. Mekdes noted that the enduring partnership between the two nations has delivered significant health outcomes and contributed substantially to improving public health services across Ethiopia.
“Our longstanding partnership has delivered remarkable health achievements. Moving forward, we will continue to work collaboratively and diligently to strengthen these gains, ensure their sustainability, and accelerate our efforts to build a resilient and robust health system capable of effectively serving our people for generations to come,” the Minister stated.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Ethiopia and the United States to advancing health sector development and fostering sustainable healthcare outcomes for future generations.
