Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie has congratulated the Ethiopian people and wished Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed a successful new term in office, calling for continued unity, peace and collective efforts for the country’s prosperity.
In a statement issued earlier this afternoon, Mayor Adanech described the day as not only a day of joy, but also the beginning of a new chapter of hope, victory and efforts to build Ethiopia’s civilization.
She said Ethiopia has overcome numerous challenges through perseverance, collective efforts and unwavering unity, and has embarked on a new journey of prosperity.
The Mayor emphasized the importance of unity and peace, urging Ethiopians to view their differences as a source of strength and their unity as a source of power.
“No difference is greater than Ethiopia’s peace and unity,” she said.
Mayor Adanech also called on Ethiopians to stand together, cooperate and work diligently for the country’s peace, sovereignty, justice and comprehensive prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
“Peace is our foundation; unity is our strength; Ethiopia is our common home,” she said.
She further stated that unity strengthens the country, cooperation helps overcome obstacles, and standing together demonstrates Ethiopia’s greatness.
“Ethiopia will prosper, endure in peace and, emerge victorious through unity,” Mayor Adanech said.
