In a statement released on her official social media platform, Adanech Abiebie Mayor of Addis Ababa announced the inauguration of the Gelan Gura Industrial Park, constructed by the City Administration.
The mayor highlighted the industrial park’s significant role in boosting the city’s economy and creating new opportunities for citizens.

“We have successfully completed the construction of the Gelan Gura Industrial Park and inaugurated it with His Excellency our Prime Minister,” she stated.
“Our city, Addis Ababa, is opening a new chapter by integrating industrial park development with the city’s strategic development agenda. The multifaceted development achievements being recorded across our city are not only improving the living standards of citizens, but are also generating remarkable economic benefits by transforming the city’s appearance, creating extensive job opportunities, and enhancing the well-being of our community.
Our city administration is giving special attention to expanding these industrial villages, which serve as key drivers of economic growth, through the modernization of workplaces and the provision of the necessary support and supervision. The Gelan Gura Industrial Park, inaugurated today and now ready for operation, is a clear demonstration of this commitment.”
This massive industrial park represents a major development milestone that will provide new momentum for our country’s economic growth.
On behalf of the city administration and myself, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude and respect to the leaders and experts at all levels who worked tirelessly day and night to complete this project on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. I also thank the local community for their loyalty, as well as all contractors and associations who carried out the construction faithfully and efficiently,” the mayor concluded.
