The mega projects implemented in recent years have created a strong opportunity for Addis Ababa to emerge as a hub for tourism and conference activities.
In line with this progress, the first Tourism Forum organized by the Addis Ababa City Tourism Commission is currently taking place in the capital.
Speaking at the forum, Addis Ababa City Tourism Commission Commissioner, Hunde Kebede, stated that the city’s recent mega projects have laid a solid foundation for Addis Ababa to become a major tourism attraction hub.
The commissioner emphasized that, in order to position the city as a preferred destination for both domestic and international visitors, the city administration must actively promote its existing yet untapped tourism resources.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the Tourism Commission’s strong commitment to promoting the tourism potential of Addis Ababa and its surrounding areas.
Hunde further noted that forums of this kind serve as important platforms for experience sharing and act as a catalyst for the revitalization and growth of the tourism sector.
According to the Commissioner, the forum focuses on showcasing the city’s attractions, strengthening collaboration among stakeholders, and implementing related initiatives aimed at enhancing and boosting the tourism industry.
The event was attended by the Speaker of the Addis Ababa City Council, Buzena Alkedir, along with other senior government officials.
