The Addis Ababa City Council has commenced its Second Regular Session of the Fifth-Year Term at the Adwa Victory Memorial.
Mayor of Addis Ababa City Adanech Abiebie is presenting the city administration’s six-month performance report for the 2018 fiscal year to the council.
Addressing the council, Mayor Adanech highlighted that, based on a structured plan to make the city more beautiful, vibrant, and green, the green coverage of Addis Ababa’s urban forest areas has increased from 18 percent in 2016 to 22 percent in the past six months alone.
Speaking at the Addis Ababa City Council’s regular session, Mayor Adanech Abiebie reaffirmed that this improvement was achieved through careful planning, development, and protection of the city’s green spaces, reflecting the administration’s commitment to a sustainable and livable urban environment.
