The President of Burundi and current Chairperson of the African Union, Évariste Ndayishimiye, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed following the Prosperity Party’s victory in Ethiopia’s 7th General Election.
In a message of congratulations and goodwill, President Ndayishimiye said:
“On behalf of the African Union and the Republic of Burundi, I extend my sincere congratulations to my esteemed brother, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, and to the Prosperity Party on their successful performance in the election.”
President Ndayishimiye expressed his solidarity, friendship, and joy over the electoral success of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the Prosperity Party, reaffirming the strong ties between Burundi and Ethiopia as well as his commitment to strengthening cooperation among African nations.
