The former and the incumbent leaders have held a historical discussion in side the newly revamped sof Omar cave recently.
Speaking at the Sof Omar Dialogue, Under the Rank of Minister, Prime Minister’s Advisor on East African Affairs, Getachew Reda said there was no convenient infrastructural development to visit sof Omar cave in the past years.
Getachew stated that Sof Omar is not a landscape it is a history of the country.
At the discussion held in side the cave, Prime Minister’s Advisor on East African Affairs said the visit is a golden opportunity to witness the stunning landscapes of Bale and its mountains. Bale mountains national park is a proud tourist destination of Ethiopia.
Frankly speaking, the sof Omar cave had not been seen as part of the history of Ethiopia for many years.
“These days, apart from looking the mesmerizing landscapes of bale mountains and its surroundings, it has helped to know the history of this particular area,” Said Prime Minister’s Advisor on East African Affairs
Getachew stated that this project can be used as a model that things are possible to fully transform rural areas like what is being done in Bale and its surroundings.
“We haven’t harnessed the untapped potentials of these area because of certain factors in the past years,” Getachew said
Prime Minister’s Advisor on East African Affairs, Getachew Reda reaffirmed that the tourist destinations being developed around bale are important to ensure economic transformation for the Nation.
