Speaking at the 130th Adwa Victory day, Engineer Aysha Mohammed Minister of Ethiopian national defense force stated that the Ethiopian National Defense Force is a product of history and heroism, carrying the great legacy of Adwa in its blood and bones.
The 130th Anniversary of the Adwa Victory is being celebrated under the theme “Glorious Past, Radiant Horizon” in Addis Ababa.
In her speech, the Minister explained that the Defense Force not only firmly upholds national sovereignty and ensures the peace of the people on a solid foundation, but also continues to make invaluable sacrifices as a guardian of freedom, contributing to the establishment of peace and stability across the African continent.
The Minister emphasized that Adwa is not merely a historical memory for the armed forces; it remains a living source of courage, discipline, and resilience within all members, serving as a timeless inspiration for victory.
While commemorating this day, Aysha noted that we must stand firmly on the freedom struggles of our ancestors and reaffirm our responsibility to pass this historical legacy through dedication and hard work, ushering the current generation toward greater comprehensive sovereignty and a brighter national future.
The Minister further stated that the victory achieved yesterday in the mountains of Adwa is today our primary psychological strength for achieving success in development and prosperity.
Minister of Defense Engineer Aysha Mohammed concluded by affirming that we pledge to renew and preserve this proud history by passing it on to the next generation as a legacy of honor, backed by hard work and tangible results.
