A consultation forum was held on the Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) tracking platform—developed by the Ethiopian Investment Commission in collaboration with development partners, funded by the German government, and supported through technical assistance from GIZ—to make government-private sector dialogues more modern, transparent, and accountable while creating a favorable and predictable investment climate.

Opening the discussion, Deputy Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Dagato Kumbe, stated that a favorable, transparent, and predictable investment climate is built not only through policy alone, but through continuous dialogue between the government bodies that formulate and implement policies and the private sector. He noted that public-private dialogues conducted over the past two years have successfully addressed numerous bottlenecks in the investment sector.

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that the Investment Commission is resolutely working to address challenges in the investment environment by establishing a dedicated PPD Secretariat to monitor public-private dialogues. He added that the PPD Tracking Tool, designed to ensure transparency and accountability throughout this process, digitally registers all PPD issues, enabling real-time monitoring of progress until solutions are reached.

Participants at the discussion emphasized that the PPD Tracking Tool strengthens coordination between the government and the private sector, serving as an effective instrument to resolve investment challenges with speed and accountability.

The Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) Tracking Tool is an application designed to transparently track policy, legal, and operational bottlenecks raised by private sector investors, business associations, and partner organizations from their initiation to final resolution, according to Ethiopian investment Commission.
