The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Federal Housing Corporation of Ethiopia, Reshad Kemal (PhD), stated that the corporation’s engagement in South Sudan’s housing development sector is guided by the principles of mutual benefit, solidarity, and brotherhood.
Following the corporation’s agreement to construct residential and commercial buildings, the Government of South Sudan announced that all necessary preparations have been completed for the modern housing project to be undertaken by the Federal Housing Corporation of Ethiopia in the city of Juba.
Accordingly, the selection of construction sites and the implementation of related preparatory activities were thoroughly reviewed through a study report presented by the South Sudan’s Central Equatoria State Construction and Housing Corporation.
According to ENA, the new agreement, which operationalizes the memorandum of understanding previously signed in Addis Ababa, was formally signed in Juba.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of the Federal Housing Corporation of Ethiopia, Reshad Kemal (PhD), and the Governor of South Sudan’s Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil.

Under the agreement, the Ethiopian corporation will construct modern residential and commercial buildings in Juba.
In connection with the project, CEO Reshad Kemal (PhD) held productive discussions with Adut Kiir, Special Envoy of the Government of South Sudan.

During the discussion, Reshad explained that the Federal Housing Corporation of Ethiopia’s involvement in South Sudan’s housing development sector is rooted in the principles of mutual benefit, solidarity, and brotherhood.
He also affirmed that the corporation will complete all remaining preparatory work and officially launch construction within a short period.
For his part, Adut Kiir stated that the Government of South Sudan will provide all necessary support for the housing development program to be implemented by the corporation in Juba.

He expressed confidence that the commencement of the housing project will further strengthen the longstanding and historic ties between the two sisterly nations.
He also reaffirmed the South Sudanese government’s commitment to the successful implementation of the agreement.
