In a message shared on his official social media platform this afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh stated that South Wollo Zone is witnessing intensified agricultural development efforts.
“South Wollo is undergoing an agricultural development revolution,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
He highlighted that farmers around Hayik have shifted their farmlands from khat cultivation to clustered banana production, embarking on a new path of agricultural transformation.
According to Temesgen, farmers have embraced the national principle and strategy of identifying the comparative development potential of each area and translating it into an effective and sustainable agricultural journey.
He further stated that farmers in the Legambo and Mekdela districts are advancing a wheat cultivation revolution across their agricultural lands.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that these achievements are the cumulative result of Ethiopia’s strong planning and coordinated actions toward ensuring food sovereignty.
