The closing ceremony of the 2026 Ethiopian Manufacturing Expo, held over the past eight days in Addis Ababa, took place at the Addis International Convention Center.
Organized under the theme “Let Ethiopia Produce; Let Addis Ababa Prosper,” the expo highlighted the city’s growing commitment to industrial development.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa and Head of the Industrial Development Bureau, Jantrar Abay, emphasized that the city administration is placing strong emphasis on strengthening the manufacturing sector.

Jantrar noted that the Ethiopian Manufacturing Movement has achieved its current progress through sustained support in finance, human resources, infrastructure development, and market linkages. He further stated that efforts to address manufacturers’ concerns through policy reforms and institutional improvements will continue to be reinforced to help the sector meet its targets.
Jantrar stressed that resolving the sector’s challenges cannot be left to the government alone, calling on the private sector to intensify its efforts and thrive.
During the closing ceremony, outstanding manufacturers and partners received recognition and awards. These manufacturers are playing a vital role in accelerating national economic growth by producing import-substituting products locally and contributing to foreign exchange savings.
The event was attended by senior officials of the Addis Ababa city administration.
It was also highlighted that Addis Ababa is home to approximately 3,900 small- and large-scale industries.
