Addis Ababa City has held successful national, continental and international summits recently.
Speaking at the honoring program, the mayor of the city Adanech Abiebie has hailed the contributions of stakeholders for the successful completion of national , continental and international summits in Addis Ababa.
It is stated that the Meskel Demera and Irreechaa Festivals have been colourfully celebrated in the capital.
Moreover, Addis Ababa has successfully hosted the second Africa climate change summit and the African Caribbean Leaders’ Summit, attended by more than 25,000 international participants.
The Mayor said the public demonstrations held in connection with the completion of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project, the Meskel Demera celebration and Irreechaa festival were celebrated in a spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood without any security problems in the city.
The Mayor further acknowledged the leaders of the city at all level, Service providers, the business communities, and others for the successful completion of religious and public holidays in Addis Ababa
“The international summits , public rallies, religious and cultural celebrations were held without any security problems in Addis Ababa,” the Mayor said
It is also stated that the international summits have contributed significantly to the residents as a source of income and to the city’s economy
