Mayor Inaugurates 1,287 Modern Residential Houses in Addis Ababa

Mayor of Addis Ababa City, Adanech Abiebie has officially inaugurated 1,287 modern residential houses built within nine months.

Speaking during the inaugural ceremony, the Mayor said the city administration has carried out various productive activities that address the social and economic needs of the people.

The Mayor further said more than 380,000 houses have been built and transferred to beneficiaries in Addis Ababa.

The newly inaugurated communal residential houses are found in the Germany Square, Ayertena, and Girar areas in the city.

The inaugurated 24 buildings include not only residential houses but also comfortable living environments for the people. The buildings consist of children’s playgrounds, sports fields, entertainment areas, parking spaces, and other shared facilities among communities.

The mayor stated that beyond construction, the housing project has created many job opportunities and enabled knowledge transfer for the youth, enhanced construction capacity, and demonstrated that quality and speed can be achieved simultaneously.

The city administration has provided the houses at an affordable price to commercial bank employees in Addis Ababa. More over, the housing project has contributed as an alternative solution to the housing problem facing the community.

Finally, Mayor Adanech has expressed her appreciation on behalf of her self and the city administration to the dedicated leaders, professionals, and institutions who contributed for the success of the housing project
