The Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs Standing Committee of the House of Peoples’ Representatives today held discussions with a delegation of Saudi Arabian tourism professionals, highlighting growing cooperation between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia in the tourism sector.
Speaking during the meeting, Chairperson of the Standing Committee, Dima Nogo (PhD), said Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia have longstanding historical ties and cooperation across various fields. He noted that tourism cooperation between the two countries has been gaining momentum, particularly as the Ethiopian government continues to give greater attention to the development of the tourism sector.
Dima said Ethiopia is steadily developing its tourist destinations and improving infrastructure and facilities to make them more accessible, attractive, and convenient for visitors. He added that efforts will continue to strengthen the tourism sector and elevate the longstanding relationship between the two countries to a higher level.

Ali Dawud, a member of the Saudi delegation and social media professional, said Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia share strong historical connections. He expressed his commitment to working with Ethiopian stakeholders to further strengthen tourism cooperation between the two countries. He said the delegation’s visit had given them an opportunity to see firsthand the growing attention Ethiopia is giving to tourism development.
Another member of the delegation, Alid Ali, a manager at Djibouti Airlines, also praised Ethiopia’s efforts to promote tourism. He particularly highlighted the rapid development of recreational parks in Addis Ababa and the ongoing improvements at tourist destinations across the country.
Lina Mohammed, founder of Trust Travel and a member of the Saudi delegation, said efforts are underway to further strengthen tourism cooperation between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia. She added that the delegation is committed to promoting Ethiopia’s tourist attractions and historical heritage sites internationally, helping them gain greater visibility and recognition among global travelers, according to the House of Peoples’ Representatives.
