The World Public Summit Africa is being held in Addis Ababa under the theme “A New World: Africa in Shaping a Common Future.”
Organized by the World Peoples Assembly in partnership with African and international organizations, the two-day summit is being held at the headquarters of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
The summit aims to place Africa’s experiences, perspectives, and aspirations at the center of global discussions on cooperation, innovation, diplomacy, and the continent’s future development.
More than 700 participants, including government officials, diplomats, business leaders, academics, journalists, technology innovators, youth representatives, civil society actors, cultural leaders, and policy experts from Africa and beyond, are taking part in the gathering.
The agenda features plenary sessions and panel discussions focusing on sustainable infrastructure, food and information systems, scientific cooperation, education, youth engagement, public diplomacy, and the preservation of Africa’s rich cultural heritage.
Speaking about the significance of hosting the summit in Ethiopia, Tsegaye Chama, Secretary General of the Global Black Center, said Ethiopia represents a symbol of freedom and that Addis Ababa’s selection as the host city is a right choice.
The World Public Summit Africa seeks to advance new forms of international partnership built on shared responsibility, mutual respect, and recognition of the cultural values and aspirations of all peoples.
The summit is taking place from July 29–30, 2026, in Addis Ababa, bringing together voices from across the world to discuss pathways toward a more inclusive and cooperative global future.
