For centuries, Africa’s history has been distorted and misrepresented by others. Today, Africans have gathered in Addis Ababa to share their own stories with the world through digital media and to raise their voices on issues affecting the continent.

The gathering, organized by Pulse of Africa (POA) in partnership with AGA-Tech, will begin on May 7, 2026, under the theme “Influencers for a Better Africa.”

The summit has brought together numerous participants, with Africa showcasing its true beauty and diversity to the world through the voices of its social media influencers.

Bereket Sisay, Coordinator of Pulse of Africa, explained that the main objective of the gathering is to create opportunities for influencers to collaborate and raise their voices on African issues.

He highlighted the significant role social media plays in presenting the true image of Africa to the rest of the world and in correcting the misconceptions often spread about the continent.

He also noted that the summit provides a valuable opportunity for social media influencers to work together in fostering common understanding and unity among Africans.

For his part, Gemeda Olana, CEO of AGA-Tech Enterprise, said the summit will create a platform for African social media influencers to discuss African issues from an African perspective.

He added that the influencers participating in the event were carefully selected based on the quality of their content and noted that the summit would help promote the positive image of Ethiopia to Africans and the wider international community.

The African Social Media Influencers Summit, organized by Pulse of Africa in partnership with AGA-Tech Enterprise, will continue for two consecutive days.

By leveraging the digital ecosystem, many African youths are generating income through creativity while also expanding their economic benefits.
