Kabod Coffee, an Ethiopian coffee brand that was launched in 2022 at Denver International Airport (DIA) in the United States, has officially opened a new outlet in Ethiopia at the Ethiopian National Palace in Addis Ababa.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Speaker of the House of Peoples’ Representatives, Tagesse Chafo, along with senior government officials and invited guests.
Founder of Kabod Coffee, Berihun Regassa, said the establishment of the cafe inside the historic National Palace compound took eight months to complete.

The founder noted that opening Kabod Coffee in such a symbolic national setting while blending premium Ethiopian coffee with modern restaurant services, is a great source of pride for both the company and the country.
Berihun explained that Kabod Coffee’s return to Ethiopia is not only aimed at contributing socially and economically, but also it serves as a bridge between Ethiopia and the United States. By building on its business experience in Denver, the brand seeks to act as an ambassador for Ethiopian coffee, promoting it on the global stage and strengthening economic and cultural ties between the two nations.
During the inauguration, it was also stated that if Ethiopia’s coffee sector continues to grow along its current trajectory, it has the potential to achieve global recognition comparable to major international brands such as Apple.
Kabod Coffee has created employment opportunities for around 40 people in Ethiopia, further contributing to the country’s growing hospitality and coffee industry.
