President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Taye Atske Selassie, said that Ethiopia’s journey toward greatness will continue to accelerate as the country overcomes the challenges it has faced with resilience and wisdom and enters a new chapter of comprehensive development and peace.
In his address to the joint session of the House of Peoples’ Representatives and the House of Federation, the President said that the Ethiopian people are using their historical wisdom and insight to undertake major measures that will enable the country to make significant progress.
He noted that the beautiful corridor development projects launched in cities, the growth in agricultural productivity, and the activities of the National Dialogue Commission are among the major indicators demonstrating the country’s bright prospects for the future.
The President expressed his highest appreciation and respect to the Ethiopian National Defense Force and federal security forces for their sacrifices in maintaining the country’s peace and security.
He also stated that efforts to ensure peace for the people, uphold the rule of law, and strengthen national unity will continue to be reinforced.
President Taye Atske Selassie said that Ethiopia’s path is to strengthen its overall national capacity. He emphasized that the voices of development and peace will be heard more strongly than ever across the country and that ensuring the prosperity of the Ethiopian people is a shared responsibility of all citizens.
He further affirmed that the new working year is expected to be more effective and to further highlight Ethiopia’s greatness, with high hopes placed upon it.
